From scoring a century at Lord's and raising millions of pounds for charity, to writing songs with the Bee Gees, Eric Clapton, Elton John and George Harrison, to being the official court jester of the Prince of Brunei - David English is a man with a story and more than a few jokes to tell. As president of RSO records he helped create the most successful independent records label in the world (they once had an unprecedented five singles in the American Top 10 in one week). As a budding film actor he taught Robert Redford the intricacies of cricket on the set of A Bridge too Far (as well as tormenting Anthony Hopkins with terrible jokes). As pal of Ian Botham he joined Beefy on his leukaemia charity walks, and hosted the renowned Botham and Viv Richard roadshows. As founder of the Bunbury Cricket Club, who else could persuade Bill Wyman to bat - fag in hand - against the bowling of Gary Lineker, whilst Phil Collins wicket-keeps? This biography is an appropriately chaotic, humorous romp through his eventful and dedicated life.
