At one hand German police were ruthlessly killing Jews, whereas on the other hand, a number of them were being sent to German prisons and concentration camps. There they were made to work like animals barbarously till every bit of energy left in them was exhausted. Thereafter, they were shot for not being able to provide any further service.Descriptions of those horror-filled atrocities inflected on the Jewish people during that phase make the book worth reading.
